Those eye style choices in the character creation menu are awesome!! Multi-color eyes, cat eyes, blank eyes etc. :)

I really prefer a linear JRPG with strong storytelling. This 'gameplay over story/characters' approach just isn't my thing.

But that's why Xenoblade was basically only a prototype for gameplay. This game looks to deliver on both fronts equally with a strong story as well as still giving the player freedom to explore the world and experience what there is to experience. If you want to power through the story feel free. If you want to explore every area thoroughly you can do that too. It's really promising to be the best of both worlds, which is why this game is so hyped. It's an RPG lovers dream, whether you prefer story or world, and it'll find appeal beyond just that niche as well hopefully.

xenoblade already was the best of both worlds usaama.. Just because it didn't have a ton of high tech nerdy sci fi babble like xenosaga doesn't mean the story wasn't emotional or good..

The sci-fi element is what made those games cool.

I beg to differ. The story of Xenoblade was hardly either emotional or good. Had some decent plot devices though.

Yeah I enjoyed Xenoblade's story immensely. I thought it was engaging when it was active, and when it wasn't I loved exploring everything so I never really got bored. It helped that the world had so much charm and so many secrets to find. I think the plot was simplistic though, based off simple themes. This game seems more complex, but I'll enjoy it either way.

I would definitely welcome much more of a Xenogears level story. At the same time, I want a world with the richness of Xenoblade; I really loved exploring Nopon village and looking at their society and how the people there lived and functioned - if it could have places as wonderful as that, then I would be happy.

In other words - I think I would really love a game that had something as rich and wonderful as Nopon village, the the narrative and mystery surrounding it in the same way Xenogears had of Solaris.
