More Xenoblade in treehouse

The demo is identical to the one from two days ago, just a diff main char. The guy won't stop hyperventilating about how free and open the game looks. TBH I think the game looks kind of like a bizarre version of Jurassic Park from the future and I'm not to keen to explore it...

So same opening sequence, just going different areas. I love the warble we hear from Mika Kobayashi in the cutscene as the fog is dissipating and we see some of the scenery (waterfalls etc). Just sooo... Amazing. Can't wait for the full OST. So hyped.

Yeah I'm not too excited about the art style and the music.

Xenogears and Xenosaga were commercial failures. You can't blame Takahashi for going a different route. It looks like he's trying to appeal to the Mass Effect crowd. Kind of sad.

Yea. The silent protagonist, and overall feeling I'm getting from this game screams "We're similar to Mass Effect now so give us monies!"

You can swim around the whole city? That must take forever.

Ever played Xenoblade? It really does take forever, but its satisfying finding secret areas.

What bothers me is that they're not addressing the issue of ludo-narrative dissonance that the first game struggled with pretty badly.

Being put in a wide open field where your only desire is to run around aimlessly and explore and fight things is TERRIBLE gameplay to put alongside "so Earth was just blown up and we're among the only surviving humans on a hostile alien planet"
