You can swim around the whole city? That must take forever.

Ever played Xenoblade? It really does take forever, but its satisfying finding secret areas.

Yes it's my favorite game. It takes a long time to swim through Eryth Sea but I bet this takes longer, maybe.

Yeah no doubt. Can't wait to do it though.

It'll probably be easier once you get a DOLL.

The demo is identical to the one from two days ago, just a diff main char. The guy won't stop hyperventilating about how free and open the game looks. TBH I think the game looks kind of like a bizarre version of Jurassic Park from the future and I'm not to keen to explore it...

What bothers me is that they're not addressing the issue of ludo-narrative dissonance that the first game struggled with pretty badly.

Being put in a wide open field where your only desire is to run around aimlessly and explore and fight things is TERRIBLE gameplay to put alongside "so Earth was just blown up and we're among the only surviving humans on a hostile alien planet"

Translation: I want this game to be Xenohallway XIII

Seriously, you're complaining about the game giving players the freedom to do whatever they want. Want to progress the story? fine. Want to run around, explore and kill monsters? That's fine as well.

Sounds like you're just using big words to seem smart. The exploration makes perfect sense in accordance with the story. Your character just arrived on a new planet. Why wouldn't he want to check it out?

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

I really prefer a linear JRPG with strong storytelling. This 'gameplay over story/characters' approach just isn't my thing.

linear in what regard luminon? THat's what I loved about xenoblade... It's story was still extremely linear but its world was still vast and fun to explore...It was like a best of both worlds imo...

...Xenoblade was all about freedom, exploration, deciding your own playstyle, etc... and this game is no different from that. Story is probably still linear though. Xenoblade's story overal was praised by most folks (even if not mindblowing... except at the end).

Silent protagonist sounds... Really awful, frankly.
