Used a stopwatch to measure the theme during todays Nintendo Treehouse Livestream. Kinda short but it sounds good.

Standard battle themes usually arent that long, because battles dont last very long. If it goes on to 2 minutes before the loop you're almost never going to hear the later parts.

The important thing with a battle theme is that the first 30 seconds is something you'll be okay listening to a billion times in a row without getting sick of it.

Yes, Captain. Treehouse played the demo some more showing slightly different stuff.

KOTR, the battles seem kinda long (when compared to a 1 minute song, at least). Remember the gameplay trailer awhile ago? It took a pretty decent amount of time to defeat that low level.

It varies from game to game, of course. We cant really say how long the battles will be based on this stage of development, since overall balance and tweaks havent been made.

I think the best reference we have is how long Xenoblade battles took on average.

More games should adopt Persona's take: A full song length, where each battle begins on a different part of the song. One song, less repetition.

Doesn't mean it's 1 minute and 19 seconds... many songs repeat sections throughout the song, often the 2nd time being slightly different with a solo following afterwards.

I wouldn't mind it being short, but I do think it'll probably be longer.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

I honestly didnt realize Persona did that. Did P4 do it? I just remember it starting in the same place every time.

I thought it was Nocturne that did that.
