Maybe? It depends on how heavy the SMT influence is. If I had to guess I'd say they'd try to aim for a T, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's what will happen.

They'll probably tone down the SMT stuff so that it'll be a T rating.

Which is fine because DeSu:O was great and it was T. Heck DeSu2 had very detailed death scenes.

Well Devil Survivor was also 2D, which they seem to grade more leniently. If we're talking detailed 3D death scenes that's almost certainly an M.

That's my guess. I've noticed usually with cross overs they would rather tone down the generally more graphic one than bring the softer one up to that level.

I don't have a problem with that, but it does have me curious how they'll handle this game.

On the other hand, I'm hoping this does gets the "M" rating. Not only because I want to see both sides of this crossover properly represented and Atlus to not be limited in its storytelling any way. But it would hopefully be a chance to showcase to more players that, yes, Fire Emblem can be just as ****ed up in a number of respects. And if they took full advantage of that with this pairing with SMT? We'd have a nice precedent. And maybe NOA will ease up on the censorship for future FE games, as a result.

The upcoming FE: Awakening itself is one of the "darkest" games in the series since the days of FE4 and FE5, where ritual sacrifice of children, domestic abuse, rape and incest where but a few of the "hot topics" covered.

FE is easily Nintendo's "edgiest" franchise, and I think it would get more interest if they were aware of that much.

While logically, it will likely be toned down to a T. Sadly sacrificing several SMT elements.

From what I'm hearing about Fire Emblem now it could still stand to be M. Especially if Atlus calls most of the shots in keeping many of the SMT parts in the story. As well as the demons.

That said thou. I don't really understand while Strange Journey and Persona 3 were rated M while Devil Survivor was T. (Persona 3 in Japan got the equivalent of T in Japan "B")
