only master 1 through master 5 affect the magic find

easy medium or hard is just for player difficulty

So I'll find the same quality loot on nightmare(medium) as I will on nightmare(hard)?

I'm still a bit confused on how this works as well. I've played D3 on PC, so I totally get the normal vs nightmare vs hell comparison regarding loot. I totally don't get the sub difficulties though. I read directly on the blizzard website that the sub difficulty does improve loot at all levels...meaning even bumping up to medium raises the MP level which improves loot. However, every post I've found here, people say there's no loot difference between easy medium and hard.

Anyone kind enough to clarify?

Sure its just like diablo 2 on the pc the higher the magic find the better chances you have to find something better the cap I think was around 135% anything more than that was a waste.

Magic Find cap in D3 console is 300%. But you can go higher if you know what you're doing.

So does medium or hard difficulty improve loot, or is it the same as easy? Never mind how much faster the kills are on easy...just strictly on a 1:1 drop basis between say easy and medium.

Are you sure? The Diablo 3 Console FAQ says:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280998875

Easy = Monster Power 0
Medium = Monster Power 2
Hard = Monster Power 4
Master I = Monster Power 6
Master II = Monster Power 7
Master III = Monster Power 8
Master IV = Monster Power 9
Master V = Monster Power 10

So in easy mode you will get no bonuses.
