Yoshi's Island DS isn't bad per se, but it's almost like the developers just took a book called "How to make a Yoshi's Island Game" and followed it to the letter, The game is competently made but it just...lacks a soul for lack of a better phrase. The game is just kind of there. --- Sign my petition to ban petitions. 528 signatures. http://www.petitiononline.com/1337cl/petition.html

... No, that's called a sequel.
New levels, mechanics, a new story, and new enemies is exactly what makes a sequel. I mean, if Yoshi's Island DS is an expansion pack then just about every sequel ever is just an expansion pack. --- King Boo for Super Smash Bros. Spread the word, show your support
Apparently, according to some impressions of the game, the story starts literally at the end of Yoshi's Island, with the parents being given the baby Mario Bros. The DS game starts well after that ending scene, in a village with lots of babies.
So like, is this a sequel to the DS game or for whatever reason a midquel? I know hurrhurr Mario canon, but I thought of the Yoshi games involving the babies, it was Yoshi's Island>Yoshi's Island DS>Yoshi's Story. --- Currently Playing: Eternal Ring (PS2)
