Excluding the asstastic 3D/2D style (Colors, Generations)

I considered the adventure games, but even those are controversial.

Adventure games. As you said.

Colours and Generations are not "asstastic".

Generations, Colors, and this, are all good, in increasing goodness.

I don't think there are any others.

Sonic Adventure 1, but only for newcomers, for purists the voice-acting is some kind of punch in the face. For me, it was the only great Sonic game ever released (I hate the Genesis 2D games). I prefer a slower pace with platforming, looking forward to giving this game a try.

You HATE the Mega drive titles?

Even 3&K?

2d games with sprinkles of 3rd person view, no actual 3d traversing or revolution though. And they are pretty underwhelming games. They get props for not being awful, which is what people were more used to.

Thanks for confirming that you haven't played any of those games at all.

Unleashed, specifically the 360 version. While I enjoyed Colors and Generations quite a bit, they were both a little too easy for me. Unleashed on the other hand... now THAT was a suitable challenge!
