I recently started to use amplify as part of my setup but i notice that most of the time when its equipped i still will not here any footsteps from friends or enemies. Has anybody else run into this problem?

No... Are they all running dead silence? I don't think amplify really works all that much against dead silence users.

Most aren't using it and I thought dead silence only helped when people weren't using amplify.

If I remember correctly dead silence was tweaked a long while back and it became pretty much impossible to hear even with amplify. Not sure if that was fixed though.

Amplify has a side effect of lessening your teammates footsteps.

You should run dead silence and amplify so your own steps dont confuse what you should listen for.
Enemy footsteps will be 20% louder then yours and your teamates.
Turn up the bass in your headset..
Get a turtle beach headset or better to hear things more clearer.
They will sound like hippos stomping
Also crouched walking is always silent
