Am I the only one who's not impressed with David Wise's new tunes?

They remind me of the silly tunes of DKC3 GBA. They do not match the game's levels most of the time and they're too goofy rather than atmospheric and mysterious

I'm still holding out to hear more. I trust he'll do a good job.
Who would win, Jedi Charizard or Jedi Jigglypuff?

Listen to the Viking theme at the beginning of the new trailer, it sounds badass!

Of course, we only get to hear a little bit of it, but it sounds like it'll be a great new tune.

Most of the music in the trailers sounds really upbeat, jazzy, swing. A touch of Benny Goodman's Sing sing sing rendition.

let's judge a 60+ song soundtrack based on 2 minutes of gameplay that usually has someone talking over it.

you are the only one in the whole world, by the way.

I'm just going to spare you the time, and cut to the chase. You're going to be disappointed in the new tunes no matter what, since they aren't just straight out rips from DKC and DKC2.
Check out my sound cloud! I write orchestra pieces, sometimes piano solos:

The new trailer has a bad ass intro song, but then the trumpet starts screeching.
Rock is fine, scissors are overpowered.

We haven't really heard enough to judge well. I mean, most of the great songs in other DKC games weren't the kind of things you'd hear in trailers

I haven't seen the new trailer yet, but keep in mind there's a difference in art tone, so I'm sure that'll effect the tone of the music to change too. Also dkcr has a lot of levels where they push you along so the tunes will be more than likely quicker to follow. Lastly trailer music is of course gonna be quicker since the want to pump you up and get people excited to buy it.

I'd argue that the GBA tunes matched the levels better than the SNES tunes did. The music from the tree levels comes to mind-- the SNES music might've been fitting in a haunted tree, but none of the tree levels in DKC3 were supposed to be haunted...
