the Akuma has crazy acceleration.. I'd daresay faster than all the other bikes. in any race where you aren't going max speed all the time ( and even on a bike, that'll take a little while to learn all the lines nad ply in some luck at avoiding rnadom obstacles), then the akuma will have the advantage..
that said, I still like my double T, something about it's aesthetics just really gets me.
I can't verify it but to me it feels like the akuma accelerates faster when you've upgraded it, even if the acceleration bar was already at 100%. Fast acceleration is more important than top speed on races with lots of turns.
Forgive me Vixy, I was young.. In love.. and had a spare bomb!
It has the perfect mix of handling, acceleration, and speed.
Bikes that go too much faster are hard to handle at their tops speeds and so it tends to make people crash a lot or miss turns.
With the akuma you can ride full throttle almost for the entirety of every race and only let off the throttle to take turns (rarely even needing to brake) and the top speed is low enough that most obstacles are manageable and easy to see before you are on top of them.
