Quickest Way to EV Train

#1jimhalpert789Posted 6/3/2013 8:28:01 PM
I'm attempting to train a team for Pokemon Stadium 2. The team is already lvl 50, but their stats are pitiful, so I've realized that I need to EV train them to make them more competitive against the in-game pokemon. At first I figured I would just fight the Elite Four over and over until my pokemon were all level one-hundred, but IIRC the amount of EV's gained when defeating a pokemon doesn't have anything to do with the pokemon's level. This brings me to my question in the Title: What is the quickest way to EV train? I don't plan on giving my pokemon perfect EV's, but I would like to buff them significantly in the quickest way possible, so I'm looking for a certain pokemon or group of pokemon that I can fight to gain lots of EV's quickly. If it matters, I can play at 4x speed with PS2, so the process would be sped up a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't actually have a proper answer for you, but if you're willing to put in the effort, you could check out Liikala's FAQ ( http://www.gamefaqs.com/gameboy/907714-pokemon-blue-version/faqs/54432 ); section (3b) is what is really relevant to stat experience. You could then choose where to train based on the base stats listed in Appendix A.

Hope this helps in some way.

I believe it's been answered in your other topic on the Pokemon Yellow board

Thank you, that FAQ is perfect!

EDIT: If I understand the FAQ correctly, after filling a pokemon with as many vitamins as possible, they will have 25600 of the 65025 possible stat exp. Each run through of the Elite Four with a single pokemon yields about 2000 stat exp, meaning that it will take about 20 runs through the Elite Four with each pokemon to max their stats. Am I understanding the principle correctly?

That is indeed correct.

If your pokemon reach level 100 before you finish the training and wish to apply the stat changes, simply place it in the PC box and withdraw it to see the changes ingame.

Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2 apply the changes automatically regardless.
