Reset Actor console command

#1lordvivecjjjPosted 8/24/2013 6:57:14 AM
I want to ask about the effectiveness and/or potencial bugs of the Reset Actors console command. If you don't know about it, it reset all the actor's position (that is, NPCs) to their original location
Does it work correctly, all the time? Like, that stupid caravaneer in balmora always falls down from his stand (I'm afraid he's also taking damage this way...) and so I already used it a couple of times. Do it has an effect on ALL npc's in the game? Could it screw up some missions?
And what if I bring people around using the "command humanoid" spell? If I use RA will they go back to their original location?

While I don't know how the ra command was implemented (not that it would be hard to guess), a little deductive reasoning would indicate that resetting actors to their original positions is something that you have already done when first loading an area. thus, given no other variables, the odds are astronomically in your favor that no harm could be done from this command.

no. REsetting means that they have returned to their original location, after they have moved away somehow.
Do not underestimate the buggy-ness of this game... I have the Unofficial Patch and the Code Patch, and I still get crashes, especially when I exit the game

Look at your statement again.

"original positions"

This means the actors have already been in those positions.

Anything the RA command would do has already been done.

I have used RA countless times and all it has ever done is fix something broken.

Pretty sure it only moves the NPCs in the current cell.
