Goths Imbalance?

Wow, I just got back into the game from a long time ago, and after researching Anarchy and Perfusion I could create like 20 Huskarls in like a minute.

I'm pretty sure Goths weren't like that in AoK! Did they make Goths like this because they were too weak in AoK? Is this abusable in multiplayer?

In a competitive multiplayer game, you probably won't be hitting imperial age for that to matter. Maybe in a post-imp DM, I don't play those enough to know.

its not that overpowered, because

A. huskarls arent that good
B. to continue making them as fast as you can you will need to have a crazy amount of resources.
C. the only thing it really saves is stone/wood cause all you need is 1 or 2 barracks instead of 5+

This, along with the 1.0b patch, did make Goths a top 3 1vs1 DM civilization.

In Random Map, most competitive games don't last into Imperial.

Good question. I know 1.0c made bombard cannons/towers do pierce damage, which would have a big effect as far as huskarls go, but again that was 1.0c

Oh! In my AOE:TC the Rams get owned hard by Bombard Towers. Wait, if Cannons do pierce damage now how many shots does it take for them to kill a Siege Ram? On my computer 2 shots will do, so I almost never use Rams if they have Bombards up.

I would imagine 1 damage, but I'm unsure and too lazy to find out. While bombard towers hit really hard, rams have several hundred pierce defense IIRC.

yea with the batch bombard towers are useless against rams.

the only quick way to kill rams is other siege or with a unit that does slashing damage

And what happened in the 1.0b patch?

It changed the Goth bonus of 25% cheaper cost of Infantry to 35%, at least after Dark.
