What do you all think of the list? Accurate? Some of the prices seem off, taking in consideration the highs and lows of looking at completed auctions on Ebay depending on the season, but other than that, it seems like a good list to follow by.

I don't agree with the 2011 price for Pokemon Box, but, that could have just been an off year for it.

Considering I bought my copy straight from the source for $20 (although, it was one of the last 60 ever sold, and it took an email to pokemoncenter.com, an inventory check, and a response to my email to get it, since when I sent the email, it was out of stock, which is why I know it was one of the last 60 copies they ever sold), it is mind-boggling to think that it was going for damn near $300, at that time.

I really don't get why people were paying 15x the asking price on Ebay, when they could have bought it straight from the source through their online store for $20.

I've been kicking myself for not ordering more copies when I bought mine in 2005, but, I really didn't have the cash to do it, even though I could have easily gotten 10-15 times my investment back on each copy.

Yet another topic about rarity and value. Wonderful.

Well, the thing is, any game could have easily been had when they were in stock at X store at (insert cheaper price), but supply dwindles and demand rises.

But, what I don't get is why people spend 10-15 times MSRP on Ebay, when the game is still available at MSRP from the official source.

I don't really have a problem with Pokemon Box having a price around $300 (maybe not anymore, but still $150+), I know how rare it is, and why it is in high demand (only legitimate source of a surfing Pikachu in the third gen), what I don't get is paying that price, when it was still available from pokemoncenter.com for $20.

Paying that price now?

Sure, go ahead, if you really want it that bad.

Paying that price then?

A person would have to be a ****ing idiot with way too much money they don't have a **** clue what to do with.

It would be like seeing a sealed copy of RE5 CE at walmart.com for $15, but choosing to go to Ebay and pay $200 for one instead.

Pokemon Box is not available for this so-called $20 price on that website. Unless you mean a different region, it doesn't even show up to "Add to Cart"

Gamecube collecting is just starting to heat up. Well, not heat up; more like kindle since it's quite early on.

Yeah, I noticed that right after, but was at work on a break so I couldn't edit it at the time.
