It would if he saved the money from not buying the 2GB of RAM, and put it towards the HD 3850.

Nah that dangerous, but DOES have the potential to prematurely fry your parts if you don't ground yourself on some metal first...anyway, don't build it on the carpet. Put all the parts on a large table or something.
