Mac vs. PC

#11Orestes417Posted 6/1/2012 3:47:33 PM
Macs generally aren't overpriced per se, compared against the items they're competing with directly. Problem is you've got idiots out there who insist on doing stupid **** like comparing an iMac all-in-one to a gaming tower. All that sort of thing proves is the person doing the comparison isn't actually in the market for an all-in-one and most likely enjoys hearing their own voice.

If Mac had a more open platform it would be the superior OS by far.

Or you could just get linux instead.

It's not very open if it comes locked.

iMacs are ridiculous. You pay between one and two grand for a desktop with laptop components. That's kind of funny actually. And mac pros are sitting around with three year old technology for a five grand starting point.

The only apple computer that I think is worth what they charge is the MacBook air and that is because no other ultra book really competes with it. The asus zenbooks come close, but they haven't gotten the touchpad right yet for some reason. And thats probably the most important part of an ultrabook.

Mac Pro's finally seeing an update soon... now that there are actually, you know, new Xeons to update to.

Absolutely no excuse to continue selling it for a $5000 price point starting.

Those poptarts are kind of overpriced. The store near me has the same size boxes for 2.50 a piece.

Starts at $2500, not $5000. And that's the typical starting price for these kinds of systems (hint: they're not designed for typical home users)
