Whenever I set up a new Mac, I always just do a clean install of the OS, so there's no iLife apps or anything else and then install the iLife apps I actually use (which is only GarageBand, actually). If she's been using the computer for a while, you probably don't want to do that.

This is coming from someone who would recommend a similarly priced sager over near any macbook in 99% of cases too. Just give it up, you're making yourself look like a fool.
