i was thinking of ordering some ram for my pc since its only $50 for 8gigs now but one of the reviews i read said that on his motherboard which uses the same 790 FX that mine uses, i am not sure if he has the same brand board me though or just same chipset

his board said for ram on his it had to have a 1.6 min voltage i believe it said but gskill assured him that his new ram would work fine at that even though the ram said 1.5voltage for what he ordered

can anyone find out for me if my motherboard will accept ram that only requires 1.5 voltage or if i can set it to that or if i will need to adjust it or cancel the order ? my current ram requires 1.75 voltage its older DDR 3 ram and thats one reason i didnt like it needing such high voltage

It should work, but you're paying 7 dollars more for an ugly high profile heatsink and an increase in ramspeed that the dimms I listed can easily OC to.

i like the design of those heatspreaders and they will be useful if i choose to overclock for long periods of time

and they are shorter than the ramsticks i have now
