I just got interested in learning about c++ programing and i know there are few free c++ programs out there. Does anyone know a link for me to download one? thanks!

Do you mean programs that allow you to code, compile, and run them?
At my intro java class, we use jGrasp and I remember c++ being there as well

This is what I would use, if you are going to be programming C++ on Windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/visual-cpp-express

C# or VB.NET would be a lot easier to learn, though, and chances are whatever you were thinking of making with C++ would be better suited to them.

Don't use Visual Basic. Just start out with a command line editor like vim and use g++ to compile.

Another idea I had was the spy/sniper being able to climb into the soldier's rocket launcher and be launched across the map, dealing more damage, but no splash.

can i come in here and ask where one would be directed to learn about this stuff, i dont mean doing it, i mean where it comes in during gaming (duh right?) stages, etc.
