On a 1100 dollar budget, what changes would you make? I have a monitor, os, kb and mouse. Im new to this so if something isnt compatible dont facepalm too hard. --- PSN: FinalStageBoss Winning isn't everything – it's the only thing.
What does all that add up to right now? I have a feeling you have a little more you can squeeze out of your budget. --- Dell XPS L501x | Intel Core i5 460M @ 2.53GHz | NVIDIA GT 420M OC @ 700/900 | 4GB 1333 RAM | 500GB 7200 RPM HDD
I love my CM 690 II Adv. All black interior for a sexy look and was as smooth as silk assembling my system. The only thing I don't like about it is that it didn't come with front panel USB 3.0 ports. Not a big deal to me, at least. --- i5-2500k (@4.3GHz) Hyper 212+ | AsRock z68 Extreme3 | GTX 560 Ti 448 @(820/1980) CM690 II Adv | G-Skill 2x4GB PC1600 | CM Silent Pro 700W
I'd get a better case (something around $100) and a stronger video card.
Cost doesn't always mean quality.
Personally I would look for better options for every single component before looking at a more expensive case just for the hell of it. If you like the HAF 912, just roll with that. It's a good case.
EDIT: Like he said, definitely with your budget go with a better GPU. Either the GTX 570, HD 7850, or if you want to spend a bit more, go with a GTX 670. The 670 is one hell of a card. --- i5-2500k (@4.3GHz) Hyper 212+ | AsRock z68 Extreme3 | GTX 560 Ti 448 @(820/1980) CM690 II Adv | G-Skill 2x4GB PC1600 | CM Silent Pro 700W
IMO, cases are one of the worst areas for getting ripped off. For the record, I have a HAF 912+ (check my sig =P), and I absolutely love it. Plus (see what I did there?) it was only $60.
(Actually wait, mine IS only a 912. I'm not changing what I said though: I like my plus joke, lol.)
I'm looking at an Antec Three Hundred for my next build. Again, it's $60-70, depending on whether you get the Illusion version. --- CM HAF 912|MSI 890FXA-GD65|AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 3.4GHz|XFX HD-6870 1GB Patriot 8GB DDR3 1600|1TB SATA Spinpoint HDD|XFX 650W PSU|ASUS 23" LED LCD
Just checked out microcenter, they have that i5 for 189.99 And the mobo for 89.99 paired with the 3570k. I should have enough to get a better gpu :) --- PSN: FinalStageBoss Winning isn't everything – it's the only thing.
