Max Payne 3 for PC is fantastic.

I'd hardly call a single player game needing 35GBs "well optimized"

Have you played the game? Have you seen how it looks? No? Shut up.

Anyone feel the aiming seems odd? Like off in a way? Maybe I just need to get use to it...just feels so odd.

It runs high-very high smoothly on my Q6600/460.

I thought the whole point of higher GB installations was it somehow made it easier to run on your machine. I thought this was a Valve strategy. Their game downloads were big, but they made it easier to run. Am I making this up?

Can't wait!

Ordered from Amazon....download is ready in an hour sigh.

Rockstar on 35 GB:

"The installed size of Max Payne 3 is due to the no-compromise quality of its assets, which already push console disc space to the limits. A good portion of the extra space requirements on PC can be attributed to the increased size of the textures, which are four times the size of those on consoles. In addition, the audio quality is significantly higher than the consoles due to lower compression rates, which improves audio fidelity. Again, this comes back to the range of possibilities that the PC platform opens up for us. That, combined with higher video settings when running the game, results in substantially better visual quality."

Even though the game runs in 720p, it produces another 480p stream for the New Controller. That's like 1200p!

Amazingly. It's a great, satisfying shoot em up. I haven't had this much fun pumping lead since Max Payne 1 or 2. Only this series does it right.
