Can you take a screencap of the graphics option menu?

This thing is a beast, but well optimized. IF you want you can really crank the settings and it'd take something like a 580 to push properly, maybe even a 580 OC'd, but my meager 570 OC'd handles it fine.

BEWARE: This game finds bad overclocks. An overclock I had stable for a year was unstable with this game due to the tessellation and DX11 usage. Upping the voltage an extra notch solved the issue. So yeah, this game uses all it can get. I get near max GPU utilization at all times.

And to the person who said high game size increases performance: it's true. Less compression means less processing. There's less overhead to get the same graphics if you have the space on all fronts. That's all I understand, and it makes sense intuitively.

Nice, looks very customizable. Care to explain what the varying levels of tessellation seem to affect? In terms of visual quality and cost of FPS, with pics if possible.

The lack of advanced DOF seems like an odd choice, since it seems virtually free in CE3 games.

I'll have to try this out. I never really got into the series, so it should be something new.

Even though the game runs in 720p, it produces another 480p stream for the New Controller. That's like 1200p!

The game uses other effects. It would look bad with DoF. You have to play it to understand. The role of DoF is filled with a few separate, very different effects.

I would but it's getting late.

One thing I can say: the levels of tessellation are noticeable. That character on the screen is full 3D rendering in engine. Every change you apply changes the details on the character. Depending on where you are in the game changes this main menu rendering, so graphics comparisons don't stay steady.

HDAO looks a lot better than SSAO, just like in BF3 (well BF3 uses the inferior HBAO, as HDAO is even better, but you understand).

Reflections are the best reflections in a game.

DX10.1 is actually a separate function from DX10. It allows MSAA. DX10 can't support MSAA, but 10.1 can. It scales what you can use depending on the DX mode.

MSAA requires a restart every time you want to even change it, but it works well. All other settings change on the fly.

FXAA is stellar in this title. It barely blurs the image and looks fantastic. MSAA does help, but the performance hit isn't like BF3.

Over all, this "port" is about as far from a port could ever be. In fact, it's one of the most polished, fully featured PC games in a long time, at least when it comes to the technical side of things. It's a Metro 2033 programmed right :D.

There was DOF in that screenshot you posted of the graphics menu, though. The bleeding around the character was quite DX9.

I think I'll skip it

I'm getting sick of "SO DARK AND EDGY" stuff and shooters in general.

I want a damn good mech game. Can't wait for the next ZoE game, it better be on Vita.

Play the game. It looks incredible in motion. And there's a bit of it, but it's subtle and not even close to most games. Almost everything is clear at all depths in this title.

I'll have to wait until I can get a chance to play it, since there's no demo to try out.
