Buying access to a free to play game. Yep.

It sounds like you want me to disappointed in Valve. I mean, no one is forcing anybody to buy the bundle, right?

Not the first time this has happened.

It's actually very common.

It's hardly uncommon and you're getting stuff along with early access. If you don't care about such cosmetic things, then you shouldn't care about waiting a few more months when the flood gates open

Do they know that it goes for about 2 bucks on the steam trade forums? :-P

I paid $35 or $40 when I was in beta for LoL. I got a bunch of champs/skins and some RP. This seems like essentially the same thing + early access. Hell, some people, believe it or not, like to support things that they enjoy.

Had beta access since November. Total playtime: 45 minutes. Back then, I couldn't see why it should serve as alternative to HoN. Exactly the same gameplay, but far less developed, and not available for Mac OS.

It'd be cheaper, and probably more fun just to buy a cd of the best nerdrages on youtube and put in on continuous loop while pretending you were playing

I can second that.

I'm fine with this, for the simple reason that they block ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GAMEPLAY RELATED TO THE PLAYERS.

They can charge for early access and cosmetic however the hell they want and I ENCOURAGE them to do so.

I'm sick to ******* death of games like LoL being so increasingly popular when you need 300 bucks to gain access to all basic gameplay-related elements.

Its definitively a steep price for beta access, but hey, you want it that badly or you don't.
