If you want to compile large programs like Linux kernels, a quad-core is always nice.

From the looks of my schedule, I'll be very heavily into Java, C++, and RPG/IV (and other IBM stuff)

Edit: Flash as well.
And I'll be doing a lot of work with Java and C++ on my own as well, as possibly python,

No, it's dual-core (M).

Chips labelled with QM are quad-core.

1366 x 768 on a 15inch screens looks awful.

1366 x 768 on a 15inch screens looks awful.


Would it look better on a smaller screen?

You want 1600x900 minimum on a 14" or 15".

I don't agree. I feel like 14" 768p looks fine, but 15.6" is better at 900p.
