BF3 keeps freezing? (black screen)

#1Snuckie7Posted 6/2/2012 10:36:45 PM(edited)
My game will randomly lock up to a black screen sometimes after some explosion or when I die. The screen just turns black and I'm forced to close the game. What gives?

Edit: Just found out my drivers crash too and reset.

Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively.

Your specs say you play on a laptop

Have you monitored the temps? A good chance it's getting too hot, especially now when the summer brings extra heat

Temps hover around 80C, but BF3 is the only game that crashes for me.

What other games are you playing? BF3 is a very requiring game

For the GPU, 80 celsius sounds fine, though I'm not an expert on laptop components

That's what I thought about the temps too. I've seen my chip has function fine at 85C. Other games I play aren't as demanding like AC:R, Skyrim, and Just Cause 2.
