New mouse, G400 or G9X?

#1RhytenPosted 6/3/2012 4:13:08 AM
I'm currently using a Nortek activo wl 2.4g charcoal black... which is pretty generic I suppose, but I find it okay.

My two questions are:
Is there really a big difference between a normal mouse like that one and a gaming one like the G400 or the G9X? I'm asking because if there's no performance difference, I'll just stick with the one I have.

What's better, the G400 or the G9X? The G9X seems pretty cool, but it costs a little more than the G400 and doesn't seem to offer much more... but maybe I'm completely wrong. Opinions?

For competitive gamers, G400 and G9X have perfect sensors without positive/negative acceleration. I'm not sure about the G9X but current G400 units are prediction-free which is also a bonus. Both mouses probably have better mouse feet than your current mouse, but you kinda need a mouse pad to go with them. With a decent mousepad, you would get smooth mouse movement on the surface with G400 or G9X.

My desk is very smooth, so It'll work without a mousepad. Still can't decide between G400 and G9X :\

Depends on your grip. Do you have a palm grip or a claw type grip? I have a claw grip with a G400 which isn't exactly the best thing to do.

G400 is great though, just abit too big for me.

It's palm grip for me. Are both mice comfortable with that one? It seemed like they are.

Ok, there are two versions of the G400, the second one has the removed prediction, which is the one I want of course. How do I know which one I'm getting? Don't want to get the worse one :\
Still deciding which one if better >_> help me guys please!

G400 does the palm grip better. Haven't heard anything about there being 2 versions on the G400. I bought my G400 when they came out and it's fine.

g9x has replacable hand grips, mine came with a "gaming" hand grip and a "comfort" one. i love my g9x, worth the money, and the sensor is top notch, great button layout.
