Ok I don't have multiple user accounts on my computer and I can't really set one up without rousing suspicion however I do have some folders with various files I wouldn't like my family seeing

Is there anyway for me to lock these folders? simply setting them to hidden isn't enough since they have learned how to search for those too...

I need to lock these folders preferably with a password even in administrative user

Thank You

If it's your computer, you set up multiple user accounts. Or, use a cloud service without using the local sync app.

What you're asking is incredibly easy with multiple accounts, and a pain in the ass without. Your best bet is probably a password protected archive like a .zip or a .7z.

What kind of files are we talking about here? But yeah like Xjph said, just create a Zip archive and slap a password on it using Winrar or 7Zip.

Most secure way, but multiple accounts makes sense. Multiple users, multiple user accounts. See how that works?
