What Just Cause 2 mods, if any, should I get?

#1Marioface5Posted 6/3/2012 12:31:43 PM
For a long time I didn't use mods, as I felt that whatever a mod could add could never fit in well or compete with the vanilla content, but after using mods for Minecraft I can kind of understand now why so many people like them. I got about 20 or so hours into my PS3 version of Just Case 2, and now I have a copy on Steam but with hardly any playtime into it. What mods, if any, should I get for it?

If it helps, here were my main complaints with the vanilla game:

1. No cheats, and everything in the black market was too expensive. Not to mention the limited selection of black market items.

2. Different parachutes would go away if you saved, quit, and reloaded the game, making them a waste of money to get from the black market.

3. While the world was huge, it felt very empty to me. Overall it just lacked content, and the only thing outside of missions that you could do was blow things up.

For me the grappling hook really made the game, so any mod to that

I didn't use much of anything else the rest of the game

I recommend the Superman mod:

Oodles of fun. OODLES!

You are in luck because there is a mod for almost all your problems.

Better Black Market

Everything Free (I use both of them together)

Cheats

Parachute Fix

Also if you're bored, I would suggest checking out the plethora of super vehicle mods.

This one comes to mind

If you do get the DLC's then the infite booster pack is good.

Different parachute mods are good, they just change the look.

You can get multi-grapple mod, so you can tether things together more then once and with a stronger tether.

The explosion mod is good, you can choose how big and bad your explosions look.

For some reason, the game is working very poorly for me. It didn't used to, and my other games work fine, but for some reason Just Cause 2 has horrible slowdown for me, even with all of the graphical settings at their lowest. Anyone know what might be causing this?

And thanks to everyone who's posted mods so far, especially the ones who included links!

Try updating to the latest version of JC2 and getting the latest drivers. Game runs fine for me on my laptop.

I've also had no problems since installing any mods.

Also get the Bolopatch. It allows for infinite health/ammo, multiple ropes, strong rope and allows you to adjust your money. You can toggle these things on/off any time.

And, longer grapple.

This game was awesome as is but when you add mods, it's the best sandbox game I've ever played.

My drivers are up to date, and verifying the Just Cause 2 cache didn't change anything. This is really weird, I was able to run the game fine with almost max settings not long ago, and now it runs terribly on the lowest settings.
