frapsing question.

Okie dokie, so I'm playing at 1680x1050 with fraps. full frames at 30fps and then encoding with WMM at 720p and 8meg bitrate but there is a box around the movie when I put them on youtube and they aren't the best quality.
Should I just encode at 1680x1050 and get the boxes on youtube, or should I encode as 1080p, or just play on a non-native res?

So the last vid card i asked about was crap. Is this better? -chia

When recording, the general rule is you should always record at the resolution you want to output at. If possible, run the game in a 1280x720 window (or fullscreen if that's your thing, but non-native resolutions fullscreen are....bleh IMO)

Also, unless you know you've tweaked the encoding settings perfectly, WMM's quality settings are horrendous for HD content. Double-check that they're set right.

I'll start running it in a window, then I'll get a 1080p monitor at some point in time.
Just playing in 16:9 is so, bleh after 16:10.

80 pixels. The difference between 16:9 and 16:10 at 1280x____ is 80 pixels.

You'll live. :P

If I played at 1280x that would be true.
