Need a good single player game to kill time while I'm out of town for one week. Played a JC2 demo way back then, but I've heard it's a different experience with some of the trainers and mods you can use on it.
Have not played any of the Batman games, but I rather just play the newest one for now.
Any other single player games can be recommended, thanks.

Arkham City is an amazing game. If you like open world games, definitely get that. If you don't like open world games, get it anyway.
What games do you currently have?
Don't trust the smiling penguin!
Just cause 2 goes for cheap frequently, grab that when it does. Better play Arkham Asylum first, it goes for around $5-10 when on sale. Then play Arkham City, which goes for cheap too(Don't know the exact price.).
As for other single player games. Do you like FPS? If so, try playing Metro 2033, it goes on sale frequently too. Also try Dragon Age: Origins, the Mass Effect series, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, Assassin's Creed series, Bioshock 1 and 2. I'll let other suggest some. Will post more later.
Here she comes, walking like the world falls at her feet, our eyes meet smiling just like God was her lover
Just Cause 2 is also an open world game.. Either way you're getting great games. I have personally played both (Albeit on Xbox 360 before I got my gaming PC, and without mods) but I enjoyed them both. I'd say JC2 would last you longer, especially with mods. AC is good for a playthrough or two though.

Some games that I've played and enjoyed are:
Dragon Age 1&2
Warhammer DOW 1&2
Kingdoms of Amalur
Splinter Cell Series
Deus Ex Human Rev.
You know what, I'll probably going to get both, I've looked at the reviews for both and they both look like great buys.

I have Just Cause 2 and I loved it. I don't have AC so I can't comment on that.

Just Cause 2
In this game you can:
- blow s*** up
- grapple hook a statue's head and kill people by swinging it around
- place IEDs on roads
- grapple a guy onto a car and drag him around until he's dead
- drive a pink ice cream truck off a cliff
There's a lot more you can do. I probably lack an imagination, so these guys might give you other ideas.
Other than the first couple of levels I found Just Cause 2 to be mind-numbingly boring, annoying, and repetitive, and the whole map is noticeably copy-pasta'd. But a lot of people really love it, so I don't know what to tell you. Arkham City is pretty decent and does a good job of making some improvements on Arkham Asylum, but it ends rather abruptly, and the boss battles aren't as good.
things that work interest us less than things that don't.
If you're going to get Arkham City play Arkham Asylum first. It's cheaper and it's arguably better than Arkham City. There's no reason to not play it first.
Arkham City is great, but it's not really a sandbox game despite the open world. After you finish the story it's not like you really have much to do in terms of playing around, just some side missions and getting Riddler trophies.
The world gets weirder every day.
