Sadly there is not that much hype this year compared to previous
Are you kidding me?
Unreal Engine 4 demos, Crytek 3, potential hints about new consoles, Bioshock Infinite, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Darksiders 2, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Rising, Dishonored, Need for Speed Most Wanted, God of War: Ascension, Jet Set Radio, new Sim City
Unless you are just HILARIOUSLY picky about games, there is tons to be hyped for.
Sounds like a whole lot of sequels nothing original. Dont get me wrong im personally looking foward toward some of those games.
With magazines and various websites, using E3 as a preview tool doesn't interest me. I see enough previews of games already. Besides, I have a huge backlog, so while there are certainly upcoming games I'm interested in, I'm not super-excited for anything.
Beyond that, E3 is also used as a hype machine (which experienced gamers should be growing immune to), using either amazing trailers that show no gameplay footage for lackluster games (Dead Island), or as ways of hyping up games by showing content and features that just get cut before release.
The sole purpose of this space is to make my post look longer.
