Title: Alot of people say that the sandy bridge is the better price option, but on every site I've looked, the 3570k is actually about 20-30 dollars cheaper... why?

I understand the differences in performance (negligible); I just want whats better for the cost.

Just don't get why the older CPU is more expensive.

Also I was going to go for the Asrock z77 Extreme6 but now I'm not sure if I'll use SLI. I want to get a gtx 670 windforce, but in the future, not sure if I should get an additional gtx 670 for SLI, or if I should just upgrade to a newer single card.

what sites are you looking at? if the two cpus are the same price or one is cheaper, get the cheaper one. also, SLI is a good option going forward. I can't imagine a single gpu close to the performance of two 670's will be out any time soon.

Well I wouldnt be able to afford an additional gtx 670 until it was around 200-300 bucks.

I'm trying to figure out how to build a good system for 1200 budget (+300 for monitor) so 1500 total.

But I am having a hard time finding good deals.

Also anything on the near horizon I should hold off for?

SLI 670s won't be matched by a single gpu until maybe the GTX 880. Get an SLI compliant mobo and add another 670 after around a year when prices drop significantly, then wait another 2 and buy a gtx 970/HD 10070

Exactly what I'm doing. Once the prices drop on the 670 a little bit, I'll be buying another.

There's no reason not to get the 3570k.
