Wimax is alot better. You can game and watch hd movies on it no problem. 3g can hardly game and I hope you enjoy buffering when watching HD content.

i think 3g speeds vary depending on provider. if they're all as slow as sprint, then id say dont bother. it seems like the virgin mobile mifi i used to use for work was a lot faster though.

If it is Sprint, get a 4G LTE phone. Their 3G is one of the slowest in the country. WiMAX is just 4G, which is rather slow compared to LTE and not worth the extra over 3G.

^ wimax is fast, it's just shown zero growth in well over a year and is being abandoned this year. Sprint is now selling LTE phones and don't even have LTE service yet, but you must pay for it now without being able to use it lol. same thing they did with wimax on the first 4G phones. anyway, it doesn't look like LTE is an option for TC. heck, we don't even know for sure if it's a phone he's asking about. could be mobile internet for all we know.

Nobody uses Wimax except Clear.

It's a failed technology and I wouldn't be surprised if Sprint dismantles the network when they shut down iDEN in the next year or so.

Sprint's transitioning from WiMax to LTE. If you have WiMax coverage in your area, then it would still be beneficial to get a device with WiMax over one with just 3G (just pack extra batteries and a charger with you), because with Sprint's track record for network growth, it'll be a long time before they completely phase out WiMax.
