I felt it in my stomach

#1mysticvegeta17Posted 6/5/2012 1:59:50 AM
Hello.

So I noticed something when I was playing my games, my temp looked like it was a little high. 67 being the highest while I was playing WoW on Ultra.

While it was idle my GPU was reading no lower than 43, staying at a constant 45-46 temp. I'm a little nervous as my room is hot at times because of the area I live in.

Also I was wondering, should I had installed another case fan? I feel like the stock fan isn't doing enough. Newegg sent me a 48 deal email and I see there's a case fan for $9 bucks.

Also does one size fit all?

67 is quite low. My gtx 570 runs at 84 on full load (which is just Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and maybe Witcher 2).

Uhh. Those temps are actually my normal temps. Compared to my old one which reaches 85C-90C when loaded, the one we have now is colder. My current GPU is idling at 39C-43C right now. I wouldn't worry about the temps.

As for the case fans, it depends on what case you're using. Smaller cases can usually use 80mm fans, while the bigger ones uses at least a 120mm one. Also, it's up to you if you want to install more. The basic rule is, at least one fan is an intake, while the back fan is the exhaust. I actually have 7 fans installed on my case right now. The PC temperatures are low, but it's kinda loud and noisy. I'm actually planning to install more though. LOL.

Ah thanks guys. I was more or so considering getting a fan because I thought my GPU temps were too high, but you guys are saying they are ok. I'm not worried about my CPU because I have a cooler master heatsink on it, readings are 30-42, with 42 being the highest and 37 being normal temps.

I have a Cooler Master Elite 311 mid tower. I was wondering If I should take the side see through part off, bu it doesn't appear to be made that way.

Those temperatures are pretty low really.

Mine are 70 under stress and 30 when idle, and I consider my temperatures to be pretty low.

Also case fans are not very effective anyways. Get a aftermarket GPU fan if you want to lower temperatures. You don't need one though, because your temperatures are very low

Okay cool. I was only going to get one because I thought my temps were too high, but if they are good then there's no need to get one. I appreciate it, this was my first build so I'm still learning about all this stuff, I don't want to add on anything until I'm comfortable.

Except RAM, people have been telling me that I should go ahead and get 8GB.
