LoL, HoN or Dota 2?

Yes this seems like an almost annoyingly common question to ask but I want to get back into this type of genre and I'm not sure which I should go for.

So which do you recommend and why?

DOTA 2 will be F2P with all characters available. It'll be like TF2 where you'll pay to pretty.

HoN looks like a dead end to me, so I would only choose between LoL and Dota 2.

I actually got into the Dota 2 beta so I can play it right now, which is why I added it to the choices. I actually liked HoN a lot but it really is dying right now.

I guess it's between LoL and Dota 2, being a massive fan of Dota back when it first came out I'm probably going to go with that. It's just that LoL is really swaying me because it's so damn popular.

Don't worry. DOTA 2 will be plenty popular. It's on of the top games on Steam and it's still in beta.

I haven't played HoN but between LoL and Dota 2, I'm having much more fun in Dota 2.

LoL or Dota 2

both are different enough than they're both fun to invest time in and LoL has a huge competitive community and dota probably will too.

i guess it comes down to whose mechanics and heroes you enjoy more... dota2 undoubtedly has the deeper mechanics and more fun/varied heroes but LoL isn't "too" slouchy either even if it's the casual representation of the genre.

If console gaming is so cheap then why do I have to spend $600~ in order to play Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted 3 and Halo 3?
