Idle temps for what? CPU? GPU?

It's bad either way.

For reference, it's 93 F here, and my CPU/GPU are idling at around 40.

56 is a bit high. For me 95 F room, my desktop runs around 48c. try cleaning out dust out of your computer and maybe, your heat sink depending if it has a lot of dust. mine has to be cleaned every month at least.

Primera: I don't get it. Why aren't they hitting you
Fei: That's simple. If I let them hit me, it might hurt. :)

Your ambient temp is about 35'c, So its not too bad. If your intel dont worry, just take a compressed air can and clean it out. If your AMD sweat alittle and do the same thing

The ambient temperature of my place can reach north of 35C in Summer. If it's any help, my PC idles at ~50C on the particularly hot Summer days. My PC is 4 months old, so dust isn't a problem (yet), and I have an i5-2500 (non K) with a stock intel heat sink, and turbo boost is disabled.
