selling a 680

#1shaunmePosted 6/14/2012 10:32:00 AM
I'm selling one of my cards ,the reference one, with the money i've got a few options but i need some info.I recently sold my ps3 but i kept my blu ray collection so i could buy a blu ray drive for the pc ,do the drives come with software to play the blu rays ?.

Another option is water cooling , i've been the looking at the corsair h80 and h100 ,are these hard to install and maintain ? also do they just cool the cpu or can they cool my gpu aswell? .

the last option is an s.s.d ,now the reason im not using one already even though people on here praise them to the moon and back is simply ,my computer boots very fast as it is,also because i'm coming from console gaming the load times in games are also super fast for me so an ssd has always seemed a waste on me but like i say it's an option.

Not upgrading my mobo/cpu until haswell so rule that out .

Some do, some don't.

Easy to install. No maintenance whatsoever. Just make sure your case is compatible. The H100 needs a 2x120mm spot somewhere. The H80 needs a 120mm vent.

also do they just cool the cpu or can they cool my gpu aswell? .

Just the CPU.

Looks like i would have to go full blown water cooling then ,and that is beyond my skills .

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, although in this context it means you get just the drive in an antistatic bag. No box, no cables, no screws, no software. Just the drive.

I doubt that: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106374
Blu-Ray burners are still a bit pricy though.

It is not beyond your skills at all, provided you have 2 hands with thumbs and a finger each intact, at least 1 functioning eye and the ability to move them all. Research it. Maybe start with a simple loop for your CPU and go from there.
