I've never regularly used Linux (I like the simplicity of Windows) but these instructions seem pretty easy with the small amount of time I've had in the CLI.

At least you don't have to pay for your winmodem drivers like back in 2004.

PLUS, if you actually READ my question and READ what I typed. those instructions aren't even for my device, it's for something else other adapter

Hmm...try making sure first that you're on the latest Ubuntu
, then:

sudo rmmod acer-wmi

See if you can get the dang thing on now. If so

go edit /etc/init.d/blacklist.conf (I don't remember if this is the exact directory)
and add acer-wmi to the end of the file and restart.
