False. Recently changed my MB and reinstalled my OEM Win 7. The only thing I had to do differently was call MS on a freephone number and enter a sequence of numbers which gave me a different sequence of numbers to put in on my machine to activate it. It wouldn't allow me to activate online.


Not false. The reason you had to call was because it was tied to your previous hardware. They're just not fussy about activating the OEM copy. Same end result but the other poster was technically correct ;)

No, the motherboard itself went out, and the fan for the CPU also went out.

The motherboard only boots up when half the RAM is plugged in. Tried every combination of ram configurations, to make sure it wasn't the RAM I got.

Newegg is refunding me for my OEM Windows 7 disk, since the motherboard I purchased from them went out. Also, they waved the 15% restocking fee. Their customer service is AWESOME!
