Klipsch 2.1 "Pro Media Speakers" Worth It?

#1EpicKingdom_Posted 7/2/2012 7:28:15 PM
Hi, I just wanted to see your input on these (in the link). I see a lot of reccomendations for these, I currently own a pair of Altec Lansing BX1020 -_- so I'm sure I can't go wrong w/ the upgrade. I'd like these for bass in my music, games etc.

I plan on getting these eventually, Heard they were excellent, not sure about the Klipsch but that does sound familiar.

Klipsch and Swan are both good brands. The Klipsch tend to have a bit brighter sound - extremely crisp highs - as well as clear, booming lows. Most other PC 2.1 sets I've heard may have loud bass, but it gets muddy. The Klipsch can still crank out loud, distortion-free bass, but it's very rich rather than muddy.

The Swans tend to have excellent midrange reproduction, and very good, clear highs, but it falls a little short in the lower frequencies. The subwoofer is much smaller than many other 2.1's, so it's just not as powerful. You'll get accurate sound with the Swans, but not much oomph.

If you want great movie theater-style experience for games and movies, I'd recommend the Klipsch. For spot-on midrange reproduction and music without so much bass, the Swans would be better.

That was informative, thanks, did not know, not sure what I would go with but seems like the Klipsch are what the TC is looking for...

Probably a dumb question but I have to ask, I am not audio savvy so do I require any compatibility to run these? Or is it just plug it into the wall & enjoy type of thing? >_>

The Klipsch work with anything that has a standard stereo minijack (like what most headphone jacks are).
