Good and affordable headphones for gaming/music

The Samson SR850 will it work fine with onboard realtek sound?
Without a dedicated sound card would the SR850 still have good sound quality?

It will work ok with onboard sound, I would recommend if you get them to get a new sound card or a DAC like one of these.

It depends on what you do most on your computer, if you mostly game and rarely listen to music go for those. However gaming headsets have notoriously low sound quality for the price in most cases. So if you listen to music more on your comp some nice headphones with a desk mic might be the best choice.
