Do those extra shaders from the 7950 to 7970 really make that much of a difference? Or should I just be happy my 7950 OC's stable to 7970 Ghz speeds?

Well a 7970 is probably still better, but I see no need to upgrade.

Yeah, if those extra shaders generally only mean 5-7 more FPS it is not that big a deal to me.

I have a ASUS HD7970 DirectCU II @1GHz but I also have a FAILMD 1090t so your setup probably performs a bit better than mine.
