May end up getting a gaming laptop

About 3 years ago, I bought a gaming laptop refurbished. It was a gateway 7805-u FX. I've had a lot of fun with it, but there's a good chance that I may end up having to search for another laptop because every time I play a game on it, the screen goes to black and the sound loops within an hour I play it. I've tried cleaning the fans, updating the drivers and playing games without the battery but nothing has helped. I have a feeling that the laptop itself is getting old. I'm actually pleased to have had it running for this long too, since I bought it refurbished. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that it's starting to die out and that I'll need something new soon.

I'm looking to see if I can get a reliable gaming laptop, and I think this time I'm going to get one new, not refurbished. I would like a laptop because due to my circumstances, there's a good chance that I will end up moving out of the country soon for work. $1200 is my maximum budget, but I would prefer to get a laptop that both performs well, is reliable and doesn't hit too hard on my wallet. I would appreciate it if you guys would help make some recommendations for me. Thanks.

So, are you asking for a recommendation or was that just a story you wanted to tell?

Say what you like about Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight series but she will forever be remembered in literary history for the invention of Vampires.

I bought this, but they 17" version instead (same specs as link, though).

It's a very nice laptop, and blows every game out of the water.

Probably the best gaming laptop available now is the Sager NP9150 (go with a reseller like xoticpc). It might be a little over your budget though. The best mobile graphics card available right now is the 7970m so whatever you get make sure it has that card.

Thank you all for the recommendations you've given out to me thus far. If you all could, could you all also show me some cheaper alternatives to the ones recently mentioned? I would also be happy if I were to save some money as well.

For a gaming laptop, that MSI is a decent price. Its not gonna get much lower unless you want to compromise performance.
