Would getting more ram for my computer make it faster for gaming?

lol do you know how old that computer is?

You really need a new one if you want to game.

It's probably somewhat decent for using Notepad though. Even that's a stretch.

Salvaging that computer sounds like a HUGE waste of money. Buying a decent desktop from a prebuild manufacturer sounds like a cheaper, more feasible option if you ask me.

Probably outdated game count:
X360 - 139 / Wii - 20 / PS3 - 11 / 3DS - 3 / DS - 8 / PSP - 9 / PC - 51

Lol. TC comes in, asks for honest advice about this computer and then refuses to listen. So typical of someone that knows nothing about computers...

TC should have just said "OK I'll do exactly as everyone wants" and then gone and done his own thing since it appears that people are so easily trolled by people doing their own thing anyway.

Advice is advice, it's not orders. He has been advised his computer is old and he would probably do better to replace the whole thing, but it's still up to him to choose what to do (no matter how stupid you think that decision is).

If he's dead set against replacing the power supply he should probably keep an eye on it since it's old, weak and if it's a cheap power supply it may very well burn out or start a fire. I wouldn't leave this computer running 24/7. I actually didn't recognize that the case was BTX instead of ATX. I just noticed it was a micro atx board.

That's a cheap power supply that says it will work with BTX as well. I'm only pointing this out because it's a relatively cheap option for a replacement power supply. There are probably much better options for someone willing to spend more money.

Also I don't know if TC got the last one or what, but the CPU I linked to earlier now appears to be out of stock.

That's an AMD 64 X2 5000+ Dual core CPU... a little faster than the one I linked to off of newegg. $50 and 5 left in stock.

Garbage unit. It's cheap for a reason.

I expected it wasn't very good, but it's probably better than using the same power supply he has right now...

I can play Left 4 dead and Team Fortress 2 on medium settings just fine. Although once in awhile ill get hiccups when alot is going on.

I only want to make my computer slighty faster, I don't need the best computer in the world.

You are aware that integrated graphic now max both Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead? The fact that you are getting only medium settings and still have hiccups is a perfect description as to why the computer is unsalvageable.
