Surge in power during summer time... is it normal?

I noticed on the electricity billing that our household is getting in a few more kWh each day and the billing rate on each kWh is increased a bit... is this normal? I've been using my PC for the same amount of time ever since this year started and by the end of summer I just noticed this increase.

Heat is electricity and powers worst enemy. Summer time rolls in people have AC units pumping, pools going and other things they would not normally have running during the winter on.

The heat itself is a strain on your power supplier as well. They have to monitor temps of their lines/grids and keep them at a safe level to prevent outages.

But we're not using the A/C at all... or are you referring to more people using A/C in my neighborhood hence the increase in power?

That is exactly what I meant.
