Sorry, the $245 one has hyperthreading.

So, good deal vs a 3770 but not against an i5.

Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

Sorry bro. I'm sleepy

Thanks. I prefer the case I had before because it's sleeker and I'm willing to drop an extra 10-25 dollars for it, but that looks like a good pick. Not rushing off to buy it juuuust yet but it looks like the final set.

No problem, bro. Just look for combos and stuff to make it cheaper. That's why I didn't max the budget out. :)

Eh, I went for broke and got the list you recommended.

Here's hoping it works (and maybe I can get a Windows 7 Enterprise sample -> Windows 8 upgrade?) Do I need any special tools to put it together?

You can download WIndows 7 iso from

then maybe you can upgrade to windows 8 for $15

Went with server 2012 because I hear that also upgrades to 8

All my stuff is in. Wish me luck.

Got the thing booted. I'm somewhat worried that my power supply is inelegantly wired and the case I got it in already has other wires stopping me from routing the power cords to the back. Still, it boots with no issues. Installing Server 2012 and upgrading it to 8.

EDIT: I'm not sure how to update to 8 to only 15/40 dollars. Found internet, server 2012 hates the upgrade assistant

Looks like I dodged that bullet by buying 8 off an old XP, making a boot disc and installing over Server 2012 that way.

Haha, it's done. I may have someone better than I am look at/rearrange my wiring though.
