Why you should vote for Obama if you care at all about internet openness.

The electoral college is a load of BS.

I agree...it's an archaic system invented back in the day when tallying up a nation's worth of votes was time consuming and expensive. :I C.G.P.Grey on youtube did a few videos on the topic, as well as what's wrong with "First past the post" elections (or Winner take all, if you prefer). Someone complained about the two party system, and "first past the post" is the reason why we have it...

I'm sure Obama will take the popular vote lead soon. Only 5% of California has been counted, for example.

If Obama wins California 55% to 45% then he'll be back in the lead on the popular vote.

The electoral college basically renders the people useless. It's a joke. At any rate, enjoy four more mediocre years. Not that Romney would have been a whole lot better.

i think everyone can agree that romney would not have been a whole lot better but i think for people preferring romney to obama it was 4 more years of guaranteed failure from a guy we know sucks, or 4 years of seeing if romney could actually make things any worse

bush was re-elected so im not all that surprised.

I disagree with your first point there. Does the electoral college have it's drawbacks? Yes, of course it does, just as a democracy has its own. But the pros outweigh the cons in this instance.

Ancient Greece, for example was like this. Only land owners had voting power. Obviously it's not like that exactly, but the electoral college serves this function. You must remember we are not a Democracy, we are a Democratic Republic.

Look, Romney wasn't all that great. If I had a list of people I could choose to be President, Mitt Romney would not be on it. But, President Obama is just terrible. But that's another argument. Point is, we only have two people to choose between. It's always the lesser of two evils. And the only choices you get up there are terrible because good men don't run. They can't. They have lives and families and they have screwed up in their lives. They have skeletons in the closet, and America will not elect someone with skeletons in their closet, that they know about, mainly because of the Negativity and the media.

If I were king for a day, one of the things that may be on the agenda would be to abolish the DNC and the GOP. The media is a tough one, because the First Amendment is very strong, and they have oodles and oodles of dough.

That being said, I still have to get up and go to work in the morning. Don't be too down, it ain't the end of the world. Life goes on. Pray for President Obama to make the right decisions and to surround himself with the right people. And most of all, prepare yourself to do the same when the time comes. No matter who won tonight, it's up to our generation to step up and act with honor, even while those in charge now won't.

God Bless America.

Clinton will run in 2016 and the Democrats will hold the Presidency until at least 2020.
