I don't think Lenovo makes any laptops that are completely metal. Most may have a little bit of metal on the surface of the lid or palm rest but the sides and bottom are usually plastic.

If you want an all metal laptop then you have to pay more than $450 anyways.

As long as the top surface (where the keyboard is) is sturdy,metal and doesn't break, I'm good.

Thinkpads use an inner metal frame for the lower half of the laptop (the non-monitor half) and a metal plate to reinforce the keyboard. They also use metal hinges.

The shell itself is plastic.
