I cannot find any side by side benchmarks. Is it close?

I doubt it. I imagine sli 670's would be closer. Have no benchies to back that up but thats my educated guess.

Isn't the 690 just 2 680s? granted the difference between the 670 and 680 is fairly minimal.

The 690 is running two 670 gpus, so I would bet on the 690.

660ti x 2 is actually pretty darn good!
